What is the Brewers Ball?
On Saturday April 15th the Brewers Ball returns to Bad Sons Beer Co. in Derby, CT. The event features some of the best home brews around with an opportunity to sample a variety of handcrafted brews made specifically for this event; each with its own distinct flavor and personality. From classic styles to experimental blends, there's something for every beer lover to enjoy. You will also have an opportunity to meet the homebrewers and learn about their brewing techniques, ingredients and what drives their passion to home brew. Past competitors have gone on to have their recipies purchased and used by local and regional breweries, find industry jobs brewing at local and national breweries and some have even started their own breweries themselves! We hope you'll leave the event inspired to home brew yourself and even compete in a future festival. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to taste some of the best homebrews around and help us crown a People's Choice Champion at CT's Largest Home Brew Event!
The event was founded and organized by the not for profit Seymour Tradition (501c3). Smoke in the Valley, and it's partner event Brewers Ball, since inception is a fundraising event to raise money for numerous, local non-profit groups including; Seymour Youth Sports programs, Volunteer Fire and EMS, local food banks, and many other great causes as well. To date, the festival has raised over $200,000 since inception, for local 501c3 charities. In 2017 The Sound Magazine, LLC took on the role of producing and hosting the world class Craft Beer-Music-Food Fest, with proceeds going back out to local community organizations such as the Seymour Land Trust, Seymour Cares Animal Shelter and for 2019 the Connecticut Brewers Guild. Continuing for its 13th year this year we hope you join us in having a great time, creating memories and all the while supporting the local community.
